storm gallery: May 11, 2009

May 11, 2009: Today was a travel day as I drove to Woodward, Oklahoma, to get into position for Tuesday's chase - though prospects for Tuesday are a lot dimmer than they were. Nonetheless, the drive gave me an opportunity to stop by the windmill park in Shattuck, Oklahoma, and see other sights. Share

Fun with Photoshop: Desaturated with darkened sky, a real quick-and-dirty job. More fun with Photoshop: I upped the saturation to give it more color. This is your basic snapshot of the picturesque shack - great texture even without manipulation.

Mud and the Wichita Mountains. Oklahoma's Wichita Mountains on a gray day. Shattuck, Oklahoma, has a wonderful Windmill Museum, where you can see and hear many of the windmills spin. I find it peaceful.

An interesting angle on Shattuck's windmills. The huge Railroad Eclipse is the jewel of Shattuck's Windmill Museum. A re-created sod house at the windmill museum.

Look up inside a windmill. A dandy windmill.
