May 27, 2012: Today I chased with Dave Lewison, Scott McPartland, Dayna Vettese, Brad Rousseau, and Simon Eng. We targeted the Kansas/Nebraska border. A line of messy storms was redeemed by a beautiful sunset with isolated, low-precipitation storms at the end of the line. Share

Our target was southern Nebraska/northern Kansas today. When storms went up in northeast Nebraska, screaming north, we instead focused on nearby convection.	Dave Lewison and Brad Rousseau discuss which storm to target, as several went up at once.	This is a tower to the west of where we were having our discussion (south of Hastings).
When we finally caught up with one of the better storms as indicated on radar, it was unimpressive.	Photo opportunities improved as the sun set and we drove toward the southern end of the line. That's a supercell in the distance.	Shacks always make nice foregrounds for storms.
Here are a couple of the tail-end storms.	This one was particularly pretty, as seen over a gravel road and wheat field.	There were mammatus in the anvil, but the storm slowly weakened.
