July 24 was a pleasant surprise. It looked as if the storms were winding down, but Cheryl Chang and I decided to check them out anyway. In the first image, looking south from Holopaw, is an isolated storm. The second photo shows several lined up over Kissimmee. The third shows the southern storm again from a bit farther west, at sunset, with the moon above. Digital images.

Here are those Kissimmee storms again, from a little closer -- and check out the tiny, corkscrewing updraft! It soon dissipated, but the lightning crawlers started ... and got better and better. A great night! Digital images.
